THEME: INSIST ON JOY
May we discover the unlikely root to joy as we investigate our stories:
Our disappointments
Our loneliness
Our distrust of God
Our heaviness
Our staleness
Our hopelessness
Our fears
Our betrayals

Our Guest Speaker: Lottie Hillard
Lottie Hillard is a seasoned mental health counselor with 35 years experience in private practice in Maitland, Florida. In the early years she worked with and studied under Drs. Larry Crabb and Dan Allender. She has been a supervisor to some on our staff, a counselor to many in our church, and a mentor to me.

She has a reputation for relentlessly and carefully cutting through to the core issues in marriages, gender damage, sexual abuse recovery, depression, depersonalization, and abusive or unhealthy relationships. Her most refreshing strength is that she lives out her relationship with Christ in a real and gutsy way. I am thankful she will be joining us for this weekend away to connect with each other and God.

I look forward to seeing how God works in our lives during this purposeful time of connection with one another.
Further Up & Further In,
Kerstin

Theology 101 begins

Periodically we hear from attendees that they would like an opportunity to understand theology better and how it shapes us. Beginning Sunday, September 8th, City Church will offer a six week course entitled “Theology 101” at 7pm. We’ll trace together the storyline of Scripture and what it means to be a Christian. There will be some readings associated with the course but minimal cost (of a book). If you are interested, please mark a Connection Card and place it in the offering bowl on Sunday or email Catherine.

Due to holidays and other scheduling conflicts, the dates for the class will be September 8th, 15th, and 22nd, October 6th and 20th, and November 3rd and 10th.

IJM Prayer Gathering

There are more than 40 million slaves across our world today. This reality is overwhelming, but we are not overcome.

The end of slavery begins with God's people. It begins with you.

Join us at the IJM Atlanta Prayer Gathering and boldly pray for the freedom of every child, woman and man being abused, trafficked and enslaved across our world. On April 27th we will specifically fight for the end of the end of Online Sexual Exploitation of Children in the Philippines. Experience powerful prayer and worship, hear stories from the front lines of IJM's work to rescue slaves and transform nations, and join a community committed to ending slavery and injustice—until all are free. Come prepared for a morning of prayer, unlike anything you have ever experienced.

FREE Childcare will be provided for children under the age of 6.

April 27th. Doors Open at 9.30 AM. Event from 10:00AM to 12:00PM.
