City Church Eastside is excited to host a Dignity Serves workshop on August 11, 2018.
As a community that is striving to live as Family On Mission, it is critical that we begin to start transforming the way we engage with our unique City and all those who inhabit it.
Dignity Serves is a facilitated training curriculum, rooted in a Christian worldview and biblical texts, for the purpose of helping people give and receive with dignity. The curriculum’s purpose is to empower people with a clear model for service. Pulling from scritpture, principally Paul’s letter to the Philippians, Dignity Serves provides six key principles as the ideal context for meeting human need through dignified interdependent relationships. The Dignity Serves model shows how these six key principles can be applied in a wide variety of contexts.
In addition to providing a Dignity Serves training, City Church is also providing a training experience for children ages six and up. The children’s curriculum will follow a similar ethos to Dignity Serves but be geared more towards engagement in the ‘kids’ space. We hope that families will engage together and we want to support the inclusion of our children in fostering dignified interdependent relationships.
The cost for the training is $50 and includes lunch as well as the children curriculum and childcare for kids under 5.
