A Building for Future Generations
The best days of City Church Eastside are ahead of us. As we look toward shaping future generations of Christ followers we are expanding our space to make room to grow and train more disciples.
Our Fundraising Target: $1 Million
After years of growth, we need more space. While we prayed and searched extensively for a bigger space elsewhere, God did not open those doors. Instead, we believe He is wanting us to invest where we are.
Raising $1 million will allow us to expand our seating and classrooms and make necessary renovations to our current building on North Highland. Although this is a large amount, we raised a similar amount (when adjusted for inflation) ten years ago to build out our current space. This is an opportunity for us to step forward in faith.
What Giving Looks Like:
Giving Above and Beyond
Our church’s ongoing ministry is sustained by the faithful generosity of our community. This building expansion campaign is an opportunity to give in addition to your regular tithes and donations—ensuring that our everyday ministry continues unhindered even as we take this exciting next step. Prayerfully consider what God might lead you to give beyond your normal rhythm of giving.
Giving With Freedom and Faith
Each person’s situation is unique, and every gift is between you and God. What matters most is that your giving flows from prayer, gratitude, and trust—not pressure. Whether or not you’re able to give, you are a cherished part of this church family.

God has already been growing our church — and we're asking Him to provide $1M so we can build the space that growth now calls for: securing our new 20-year lease, redesigning and building out our space, and furnishing it for years of ministry ahead. This isn't unfamiliar territory for our church family: ten years ago, we raised a comparable amount (adjusted for inflation) to build out the current space, and God provided abundantly then.
Roughly half of this campaign will go toward adding a balcony — 75 additional seats that increase our capacity by 40% per service, so we can welcome the growth God is bringing rather than turning people away. The remaining funds will cover a widened entry and lobby for smoother flow once we eventually move to two services, additional classroom space for our growing kids' ministry, consolidating our offices and worship space under one roof, and a rooftop space for kids' activities, youth gatherings, and community events.

We're aiming to secure pledges by December 31, 2026, while finalizing the lease and beginning design and architecture this fall. We'll apply for construction permits over the winter, then begin construction and furnishing in spring 2027. We're targeting late summer 2027 to inaugurate the new space!
-
A building isn't the goal, it's what makes the next stage of ministry possible. We're already at capacity: 215+ in worship with only 185 seats. Without more space, we can't welcome new families, grow our kids' and youth ministries, or plant into other parishes around the city. This campaign isn't an alternative to mission and outreach, it's an investment that lets us do more of it, for more people, for longer.
-
To move forward with the building expansion, we are asking for pledge commitments by December 31, 2026, with giving fulfilled by April 30, 2027. While we base our ability to fund the building updates on these pledges, we never obligate anyone to fulfill their pledge. We encourage you to pray and ask God for wisdom, and let us know if we can help in any way.

Yes!. We are committed to working with each person’s unique giving needs. If you’d like to discuss a specific method of giving, please reach out to Scott@citychurcheastside.org.
-
No. We don't believe it's wise to take on debt for this expansion. We're trusting God to provide through the generosity of our church family and broader community, which is why we're raising the full $1M rather than financing any portion of it.
-
Yes. We're still working through the details, but we expect roughly 4 weeks where we'll meet in another space while construction is completed. We'll share specifics on timing and location as they're finalized.
-
We encourage you to give above and beyond your regular tithing, not in place of it. Regular giving sustains the ongoing life and ministry of the church, while this campaign is a one-time, sacrificial gift toward a specific vision. Prayerfully consider what God is leading you to give in addition to what you already give.
-
Prayer is the foundation of this campaign, ask God to provide and to use this space for His glory. You can also help by sharing the vision with friends and family who might want to be part of what God is doing here, and by staying engaged as updates and opportunities come up throughout the campaign.
